And the Winner is: Beaches! + a New Poll

The recent poll in the previous Newsletter and associated Blog post had a very clear winner – the theme “Dark Tourism & Beaches” took away a two-thirds majority, followed by “Dark Tourism & Bullet Holes”, while “Dark Tourism & Bent Steel” got only a couple of votes and “Dark Tourism & Barbed Wire” not a single one.
  

So I got down to work and can now present the brand-new Blog post “DT & Beaches”, uploaded yesterday. I’m quite pleased with it – do go and take a look!
  

The photo above was obviously taken from that new Blog post about beaches and shows Omaha Beach, one of the places where the D-Day landings of WWII took place in June 1944.
  

Now, as I still couldn’t work on anything in the back end of my main website (which was still undergoing technical maintenance and updates) and because I enjoyed reviving the themed post format so much (see also “Dark Tourism & Doors” of last Sunday), I decided to roll out another poll for you to partake in. And the theme that came second last time gets a another chance in this round. Here we go:

I guess “stairs” is perhaps the least obvious theme in this round. With regard to “planes” I have to point out that I mean (more or less) intact planes and not plane wrecks or plane crash sites (that’s a separate theme for another time … I’m working on it). The “graffiti” theme has the potential for containing strong language (certainly the “F-word”!), bear that in mind if you are of a no-swear-words disposition. “Bullet holes” should be pretty obvious …
