Switzerland and poll result

Hi subscribers! This morning I returned from my short trip to Switzerland. And here's the latest blog post about that trip (with special emphasis on the dark elements of course, of which there were a few, though nothing really major). I have just composed and uploaded it. Do have a look! The photo featured here is of a mountaineering party's rope that snapped, sending four of the seven climbers to their deaths shortly after their successful first ascent to the summit of the famous Matterhorn mountain (of Toblerone fame, I might add). This inconspicuous looking but nevertheless grim artefact is on display at the small Matterhorn Museum in Zermatt, the town closest to the foot of this most iconic of all mountains. I can now also reveal the result of the latest poll about which themed blog post is to come next – and the winner is: DT & Villas (slightly surprisingly perhaps). Most votes were cast by email, and the runner-up in the poll was DT & cars, so that theme will be fielded again in the next poll (whenever that may be), while ash and flames have to take a back seat for a while at least. More news: I've meanwhile received the first proofs for my book, and from this week I have to pool all my energy into going over those and making corrections and amendments. That will have to be my top priority, also because the deadlines are quite tight. For that reason I can't say when the next full-length blog posts will come and newsletters will also be on the brief side for at least until the end of next month. Please bear with me … So far, I've only taken a quick cursory look at the proofs one evening while I was in Switzerland – but I can already say that it looks very promising! The designer/editors have done a cool job with my material (and also added outside photos and graphs/stats that further spice the whole thing up). You will have to be patient until you can see the finished product, though, as production from here on will take at least a whole year … We're currently looking at a release in October 2021.
