End of Year
Hello subscribers – and welcome new ones! This is just a short one, basically to mark the end of a momentous and calamitous year, and to wish you a happy new year ... hopefully it will be better than 2022 (though it takes a lot of optimism to truly believe it will be, at least as far as the wars in Ukraine and Tigray are concerned). The photo above shows fireworks here in Vienna on New Year’s Eve ten years ago and it's another recycled one from a DT Blog Post two years ago that was entitled “DT & New Year’s Eves”. I’m currently in between travels; just back from the UK and before that my birth city of Hamburg. This was mostly for visiting friends and family, though I also slotted in one dark(-ish) museum in Hamburg, for which I will make a Blog Post before too long. Now I’m getting ready to head off again, this time to Cyprus, flying out tomorrow very early in the morning. I don’t know if I’ll have good enough Wifi where I’ll be staying, hence I’m sending this New Year’s Eve message out already today. My itinerary for Cyprus features about a dozen dark sites, so there will be plenty more material to come in the new year. For this year, though, I’m hereby signing off – “see” you next year. Until then, all the best, Peter
