New Northern Ireland Blog Post is up ...
Hello subscribers! As promised in the previous, rather long DT Newsletter last week, this time I’m keeping it a little shorter … and no word about current health issues. This is basically just to let you know that the promised all-new general Blog Post about my recent trip to Northern Ireland is now uploaded and ready for your perusal. It comes with a whopping 21 photos (way above average for this Blog) and briefly covers everything I did as a dark tourist while there … and even a little bit beyond DT per se (i.e. a little dose of mainstream tourism I also did for once). Several of the individual dark sites mentioned in that new overview Blog post will also warrant separate stand-alone future posts with more details and photos; or maybe I’ll bundle some of them together thematically. We’ll see. Anyway, that’s what I’ll largely concentrate on over the next few weeks and months. Btw. the photo at the top of this Newsletter was taken in the main bar of Belfast's recently opened Titanic Hotel, where my wife and I treated ourselves to staying for a few nights. The dark link is that this used to be one of the main two ‘drawing offices’ of the Harland & Wolff shipyards that built the RMS Titanic , i.e. it was right there, in this drawing office, that she was designed! And then, of course, I also have to look after my main website and update the existing Northern Ireland chapters on there and also add about ten all-new chapters. All this will keep me busy for quite a while. Just bear with me, though, as I’m not in a position to work at 100% capacity at the moment. I would also like to resume marking important anniversaries and current affairs issues relevant to dark tourism more on the Blog. Let’s see how it’ll go … But that’s it for now. Until next time ... All the best, Peter
